THE PARADOXE OF OUR TIME We have bigger houses, but smaller families, larger means but less time. We have increasing quantities of dimploms, but less common sens, we have a much bigger knowledge, but less comprehension, we have many more experts, but also many more problems, we have much more medicine, but failing health. We have walked on the moon, yet, we have great difficulties to cross over the road to meet our new neighboers. We conceive new computers, always bigger, and we collect always, much more information, that uses much more paper, but, we communicate less and less. We receive always bigger quantities, but again, much lesser quality. It is the time of " fast food", and a very slow digestion, of big men, with little character, big profits, and superficial relations. It is an Era, with "Big Shows", but behind the façade, there is only emptiness ! The 14 th. Dalaï-Lama Extracts from the eight steps leeding to happiness by Dieter Glogowski.

Reflexions on Risks To Laugh is to risk to seem an idiot, To weep is to risk to seem sentimental, To advance towards someone, may lead to an engagement; To expose ones feelings is to to risk to unveil your profoundest Ego, To present to the crowd, ones ideas ones dreams, is to risk to loose them, To love is to risk that your love isn't returned, To live is to risk to die, To hope is the risk to dispear, To try is to risk to fail, But one has to take risks, because, the greatest risk in life is to risk anything at all ; The one that risks nothing, doesn't do anything, doesn't have anything, is nothing. He may avoid suffering and sadness, but he learns nothing, And he doesn't feel anything , he cant change neither develop, He can neither love nor live, Impris ones by his certitude, he becomes a slave, and abandons his liberty ONLY THOSE THAT TAKES RISKS ARE FREE |
Darkness is never complete, There is always, Because I say it, Because I affirm it, At the end of the sorrow, an open window, An illumined window, There is always a dream awaiting, A desire to sattisfie, A hunger to satiate, A generous heart, An outstretched hand, an open hand Attentive eyes One Life a Life to share. Paul Eluard

Desires To walk slowly admist tomultuous noice and haste, And to remember, that peace, that exists in silence.... Without frustration, try to live as much as possible on good terms with everyone. Say your truth gently and clearly, and listen to what others have to say, even if tey be simple in spirit or ignorant, they too have their history. Avoid noisy and aggressive individuals, as they are a vexation for the spirit, Do not compare yourself with anybody, because you may risk to become conceited or proud. Effectively there is always someone bigger or smaller than you Text found in a church in Baltimore 1692 |
